We know you worked out all winter and spring to get into shape for the summer and you want to keep it that way. But sometimes the summer heat can hinder your from getting the exercise you need so here are some alternatives to beat the heat.
1. Know when to stay inside
If the temperature reaches above 90 degrees go to an air-conditioned place such as the gym or home instead of outside.
2. Cool Down
Why not try water exercises such as the breaststroke or do laps in the pool this is a great way to cool down and get some great exercise in.
3. Perfect your timing
Since its usually hot after 10 A.M. work out before then or after seven when its usually cooler outside to minimize the effects of the weather.
4. Acclimate the heat
If you must workout in the heat try working out for a couple of minutes a day then gradually build up more time so you become use to the heat.
5. Keep Shady
Always work out in parks, trails anywhere there are a lot of trees to keep shade this will help you to stay cool while exercising.
6. Listen to your body
Always listen to your body, don't over exert yourself in the heat. if you feel you need to, slow down and pace yourself. Always stay HYDRATED and drink plenty of water.
