Rated 3 out of 5 by from Why change a product that was most excellent??? Just recently stocked up on the african black soap body wash at the local sprouts, noticed the label changed right away and just knew a formula change probably followed, and a very dissapointed one at that... why change the sea salt from dead to regular... and no more deionized water, and don't see the salicylic acid listed either...... this new formula took away the essentials and added more un naturals...why? I just might be jumping to another product, and after years of having such great things to say about this company Thomas Kestner

Rated 2 out of 5 by from African Black Soap Body Wash Has Changed Agree with Thomas Kestner. I too recently purchased the African Black Soap body wash last week (December 15, 2016). I ran out of my supply at home and needed to replace my stock. Luckily I only purchased 1 bottle when I usually purchase 3 at a time. I was very disappointed. The formula is different. I noticed that an additional missing ingredients are Cocoamidopropyl Betaine (Coconut Oil Soap), Decyl Glucoside (Coconut Oil). The product is very different. I do not like these changes. Please go back to your original ingredients. I have been using this body wash for over 3 years because it was the best body wash available. Now I will be on the hunt for a new body wash due to these disappointing changes to the African Black Soap Body Wash.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible new formula What happened? Your African Black Soap was the greatest body wash ever but now that you changed the label and ingredients it's just not the same at all. It leaves my skin feeling sticky instead of soft. Please go back to the old recipe!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from WHY! As other long time users, I too noticed the lack of "African Black Soap" as the 1st and main ingredient; in my opinion, and lack of natural ingredients. WHY!? Do you know I had 0 skin breakouts using the old formula? I cannot and will not purchase anymore of this soap and can no longer recommend it. I hope you use the remarks of the long time patrons in your next board meeting. Hopefully you can and will go back to the old formula.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing I love this soap. I will never use another soap again. It smells amazing and leaves your body smelling good and fresh and skin soft. There's little exfoliating beeds it feels like in the soap which is amazing. And a little quarter size in your hands will cover the entire body. It lathers very nicely also which I was surprised considering there's no chemicals or sulfates. All natural products normally leaves your body feeling kinda dry and this does the opposite. I will forever continue to order this product. I just wish it came in a larger size to last longer!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I can finally wash my face with soap! I just bought this body soap and I'll NEVER buy another brand again! It even has tea tree oil to soothe my aching body! I used to never wash my face with soap because of the way my skin felt afterward (so I'm sure I stripped my skin of valuable oils, etc) but with this soap, my face feels soft and smoothe and didn't feel tight when I smiled. And just look at the ingredients!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Favorite Wash Forever! This is a luscious and gentle soap, but, the most wonderful thing about it is the scent. It is warm and delicious, worth getting up early in the morning for.

How much % salicylic acid included in this product?

Asked by: Tj222
Hi TJ! Thank you for reaching out to us. I do apologize but we do not give out the percentages of the ingredients in our products. Salicylic Acid is a natural ingredient that helps combat the appearance of breakouts while gently exfoliating from head to toe in our body wash.

Is the formula different now? The new label doesn't list salycylic acid.

Asked by: Chris0000
Hi Chris, Thank you for reaching out to us. What has changed is our label… not the performance or benefit of the products themselves. We are in the process of updating our labels to be INCI (International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients) compliant which changes the ingredient list to items that may sound scary. In order to be considered for third party certifications and programs, for example being able to label our soaps Rainforest Alliance certified or RSPO certified, we have to comply with INCI. A byproduct of this change is the elimination of the origin and common names of our ingredients. A few examples, where we used to be able to label Tea Tree Oil as Tea Tree oil, we now list Melaleuca Alternifolia Leaf Oil. In the case of Sweet Birch Oil, INCI compliance requires Sweet Birch Oil be listed as Methyl Salicylate. Sincerely, Taylor

I have used the african black soap for years as my primary body wash to deal with my sensitive skin/psoriasis. My last purchase had a label changed along with the entire formula.. You've added way more ingredients (27) and much harsher chemicals. Why?
