Thank you for reaching out to us. We do apologize for your inconvenience. What has changed is our label… not the performance or benefit of the products themselves. We are in the process of updating our labels to be INCI (International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients) compliant which changes the ingredient list to items that may sound scary. In order to be considered for third party certifications and programs, for example being able to label our soaps Rainforest Alliance certified or RSPO certified, we have to comply with INCI. A byproduct of this change is the elimination of the origin and common names of our ingredients. A few examples, where we used to be able to label Tea Tree Oil as Tea Tree oil, we now list Melaleuca Alternifolia Leaf Oil. In the case of Sweet Birch Oil, INCI compliance requires Sweet Birch Oil be listed as Methyl Salicylate.
Also, What's not in our product is just as important as what is. For over 23 years, we've been proud to manufacture products without potentially harmful synthetic ingredients that may have an impact on our health and our environment. Nubian Heritage products do not contain Sulfates, Parabens, Phthalates, Paraffin, Gluten, Propylene Glycol, DEA, Silicones, Mineral Oil, Petroleum, Triclosan, Synthetic Fragrance or Artificial Color. The brand is cruelty-free and doesn't test on animals.
